about the author

Mary is originally from the United Kingdom and is an experienced primary school teacher. Her rationale for the story, Theo’s Ocean Discovery, was prompted by her work in classrooms and the need to support children with their understanding about global responsibility and the reduction in plastic to help protect ocean wildlife. She is an advocate of stories to enhance learning, especially for young people, and important current topics that will provide better outcomes for the future. Her vision is to write more inspiring stories for young people to not only enjoy but to also learn from.

about the book

Theo, an explorer and treasure collector, discovers that his treasure is not quite what it seems. He learns a valuable lesson and understands how the disposal of plastic in the ocean can be devastating.
